The External Scientific Committee ensures scientific and technical quality at the Biobank.

Its main duties include scientific assessment of sample and associated data transfer requests, evaluating the inclusion of new sample collections and advising the BICUIB director of science on the suitability of the procedures put in place to ensure the quality, security and traceability of stored data and samples.
